Court case against election candidate
One of the candidates in the upcoming Murmansk city mayor elections has filed a suit against Sergey Subbotin, the former deputy governor running for the mayor’s post.
Candidate Dmitry Malyshev argues that Mr. Subbotin has violated election law and therefore demands that he withdraws his candidacy, the Baltic Information Agency informs. The court suit is not the first in this election campaign however. Last week, the Oktober Court in Murmansk handled a suit from candidate Sergey Ivanov on the withdrawal of the candidacy of current city mayor and fellow election candidate Mikhail Savchenko. The election is due 1 March.
