Decision on visa-free travel before June

The Russian Foreign Ministry expects that Russia and the EU will have clarified issues of visa-free travel before June this year.

Both parties should be able to speak with clear words on the issue of establishing a visa-free regime before the Russia-EU summit due 31 May-1 June this year, ministry representatives believe, RIA Novosti reports.

The Russia-EU summit will take place in Rostov on Don.

The statements were made in a press conference following today’s meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Finnish counterpart Alexander Stubb. As BarentsObserver reports, Mr. Stubb ahead of the meeting stressed that Finland wants visa-free travel with Russia.
