Deputy Governor Sergey Subbotin has resigned
Last Friday Sergey Subbotin resigned from his post as Deputy Governor of Murmansk Oblast.
Subbotin is a candidate to the post as Mayor of Murmansk, and will presumably be concentrating on the election campaign.
Subbotin is a member of the party United Russia, but stands for election as independent, since United Russia has put forward the current Mayor of Murmansk, Mikhail Savchenko, as its main candidate.
Nine persons will be competing in the elections on March 1.
