Deputy replaces Foreign Minister on Barents tour

The Norwegian Foreign Minister got the flu and will be replaced by Deputy Foreign Minister Elisabeth Walaas on the tour to Tromsø, Kirkenes, Murmansk and Arkhangelsk.

The Deputy Foreign Minister Elisabeth Walaas arrived in Tromsø to participate at the Arctic Frontier Conference today and replaced Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre. The Minister stays in Oslo with the flu. Walaas will fly to Kirkenes later on today before Murmansk on Tuesday and Arkhangelsk on Wednesday. But Jonas Gahr Støre will visit Murmansk later this year. This fall all Foreign Ministers of the Barents Region will meet in Murmansk for the Barents Council meeting in late October or early November.
