EU-Russia relations on the table

Most EU states are not in the mood to tough action against Russia. A “balanced and firm text” short of sanctions will be adopted in today’s emergency summit on EU-Russia relations, the first such summit since the 9/11 attacks on Washington and New York.

The French EU presidency will on Monday table a “balanced and firm text” that falls short of sanctions, EUobserver reports with reference to AFP. While some countries, among them the UK., Poland, Sweden, the Czech republic and the three Baltic States call for tough measures against the Russians, while Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Finland, Austria, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Greece and Cyprus all have speaking out against punitive measures.
