Expanding Russian North Pole tourism

Do you feel like spending some nights at a Russian drifting North Pole camp? A Russian tourist company now plans to boost capacity at its North Pole facilities

Currently, the “Barneo” camp located a drifting ice flow close to the North Pole point has a 500 people capacity in the period April-May. From next year, the camp will be extended to handle up to 3000 people, Yamal.org reports The tourist offer comes after the Russian Association of Tour Operators joint efforts with the Association of Polar Explorers. Tourists are flown in to Spitsbergen, from where they are taken further to the drifting North Pole station. The trips will cost about 10.000 EUR for a 3-day stay.
