Federal auditors arrived in Murmansk
A first group of auditors from the Russian Accounts Chamber yesterday arrived in Murmansk. The inspectors are control the regional administration’s spending of federal funding
The control mission takes place on the request from the State Duma. More than 90 deputies of the parliament chamber – most of them members of the United Russia Party – on 13 February demanded that the Accounts Chamber initiate an inspection of the northwest Russian federal subject. Governor Yevdokimov says to RIA Novosti that he is ready to answer any possible question from the Accounts Chamber auditors. He also maintains that the recent accusations against him are nothing but a provocation meant to stir the situation in a normal and stable region.
