Finland, Norway to strengthen diplomatic presence in Russia
Both Norway and Finland are reforming their network of diplomatic missions. Both countries are closing several embassies and other foreign service missions while strengthening their diplomatic presence in Russia.
Finland is making preparations for converting the Consulate General branch office in Murmansk, now under the auspices of the Consulate General in St. Petersburg, to a Consulate General, the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs writes on its web site.
The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs writes on its web site that it will enhance its diplomatic presence in Russia, China, Indonesia, India and Brasil.
