Finnish economy deeper down
The Finnish GDP was in April down 9,2 percent year on year. In addition, industrial output continues to decline and unemployment increase.
The figures from Statistics Finland show that the country’s economy in April was 9,2 percent down from the same period last year, Yle News reports.
In addition, output continues to shrink. Seasonally adjusted output diminished by 0,6 percent from March. Output was 11,2 percent less than in April 2008, a press release from Statistics Finland reads.
Following the negative trend is a higher unemployment. Some 120,000 employees found themselves without a job in Finland by the end of June, whcih is three times more than in the same period last year, Yle writes.
