On Thursday a fire broke out in a coal mine next to Barentsburg, run by the Trust Arktikugol Company, causing the death of one mine worker while one other is missing. It is one Russian and one Ukrainian person. The fire started around two kilometres inside the mine, and there were 31 workers inside at the time, according to Norwegian newspaper Nordlys.
