First rig to Bovanenkovskoe
The company Uralmash-VNIIBT, a subsidiary of gas company Integra, has completed the construction of a drilling rig for Gazproms Bovanenkovskoe field in the Yamal Peninsula.
A total of 11 rigs will be delivered to the Bovanenkovskoe as part of the contract, Oilru.com reports with reference to rbk.ru
The Bovanenkovskoe field is top priority for Gazprom. The company intends to invest a reported 670 billion in the field in the period 2009-2011.
As previously reported by BarentsObserver, Gazprom board member Aleksandr Medvedev in fall 2006 said the Russian gas major the next 25 years plans to invest about 40 billion USD in the field, which by year 2015 also is to produce an annual 150 billion cubic meters
According to plans, the field will be in production from the end of year 2011. An annual total of 115 billion cubic meter of gas will be produced, a volume which later will be increased.
