“Foreign trade is criminalized”
The foreign trade of Northwest Russia is significantly criminalized, head of the regional customs authorities says.
Customs chief Mikhail Prokofiev told Regnum that companies deliberately lower the values of goods in order to reduce customs fares. -This has become routine and carries a massive character, Prokofiev said. According to Regnum, the reduction in customs revenues following the economic crisis amounts to as much as 50 percent.
