FSB positive to border crossing point in Liinakhamari

FSB’s Border Guard Service in Murmansk Oblast is positive to Governor Dmitry Dmitriyenko’s proposal to establish a border crossing point in Liinakhamari on the Barents Sea coast.

- If such a decision is made, we are ready to carry out our tasks in Liinakhamari, Head of FSB’s Border Guard Service in Murmansk Oblast Major General Vyacheslav Biryukov told news paper Murmansky Vestnik. - I am confident that this is a wise and timely initiative.

As BarentsObserver wrote, Dmitriyenko has requested that fish farms on the Russian side of the Norwegian-Russian border are given the possibility to handle custom formalities at anchorage outside the port of Liinkhamari in 2009, and that the establishment of a permanent border crossing point to Russia in the area should be considered.
