Gazprom gives Shtokman assignments to France

Two French companies have got technical assignments in the Shtokman project in the Barents Sea, among them the Technip company and the Doris Engineering

Total – the French company with a 25 percent stake in the project – has veto rights on the selection of technical field solutions, newspaper Dagens Næringsliv reports with reference to Interfax. Also the British-owned company JP Kenny has got a contract in the project. The company will be responsible for plans with the offshore pipelines. While Gazprom is majority owner 51 percent of the Shtokman Development company, Total owns 25 percent and StatoilHydro 24 percent. Technip ranks among the 5 major players in full-service engineering and construction services in the field of hydrocarbons and petrochemicals. The company has a workforce of 22,000 people worldwide.
