Gazprom push Shtokman beyond 2014
Aleksandr Medvedev, Gazprom’s Deputy Chief said Monday that they may push back the development of the giant Shtokman gas field in the Barents Sea beyond 2014 if gas demand in Europe does not recover fast enough.
The news about the Shtokman delay is published by Petroleum Intelligence Weekly.
The announcement comes only two weeks after another Gazprom Deputy, Valery Golubyov, told reporters in Moscow that there are neither technical, financial, organizational, nor legal reasons why the Shtokman project should be postponed, as reported by BarentsObserver.
