Gazprom: Shtokman deadlines remain unchanged

There are neither technical, financial, organizational, nor legal reasons why the Shtokman project should be postponed, Gazprom Deputy Valery Golubev maintains.

Talking to journalists in Moscow today, Deputy Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee Valery Golubev said that the deadlines in the Shtokman project remain unchanged.

The statement was one of numerous confirmations about the wellbeing of the giant gas projects. However, analysts still remain highly sceptical to the ambitious time schedule.

- We have no intentions or plans to change the deadlines in the Shtokman field development, Golubev said. – We will do everything to meet our deadlines, he added.

- First of all, there are no objective reasons, neither technical, financial, organizational, nor legal for that, the Gazprom representative said. –Secondly, we are today sufficiently determined on entering the market of liquefied natural gas, he continued, Regnum reports.

He also maintained that the deadlines are important for the foreign partners in the project.

Gazprom and Shtokman Development AG plans to launch gas production in the Shtokman project in 2013. In 2014, the LNG plant in the project is to be completed.
