Gazprom will sell Yamal railroad

But Russian Railways will not buy.

For this kind of money, let them keep it, head of Russian Railways Vladimir Yakunin told reports Thursday after Gazprom chief executive Alexei Millier agreed to sell. Gazprom values the 572 kilometres railway to 130 billion roubles (USD 4.3 billion).

Also Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin told Reuters yesterday that Gazprom should sell the railroad, and instead focus on producing gas at the Arctic field it will server.

The railroad will when ready go to the Bovanenkovo gas field on Yamal, which holds 4.9 trillon cubic meters of gas.
