General consul leaves Murmansk
After four years as Norway’s general consul in Murmansk, Rune Aasheim, today leaves for new diplomatic challenges in Sankt Petersburg.
Mr. Aasheim has represented Norway in Murmansk in a period with growing political and economical interest in Northwest Russia. He will now end his diplomatic career as general consul in Sankt Petersburg. Norway’s new general consul in Murmansk will be Jon Fredriksen, who is expected to start in the job from 8 September.
