German partner might decrease stake in Nord Stream
German energy major E.On intends to lower its stake in the Nord Stream project, the company board leader said this week. That comes at the same time as French energy company GDF Suez confirms that it is interested in becoming Nord Stream partner.
-Currently we are negotiating, E.On CEO Wulf H. Bernotat told newspaper Wirtshaftswoche, Oilru.com reports. -We might be ready to decrease our stake with 4,5 percent he confirmed.
E.On currently has a 20 percent stake in the project.
As BarentsObserver reported last week, GDF Suez now wants to be part of the major underwater Baltic pipeline project.
