Getting across

Here general about visa-regulations, travel requirements, etc Links to subsequent sub-sections

Sør-Varanger and Pechenga are two communities living side by side. Yes, it seems strange, but people live their lifes just in a couple of kilometeres from each other with no serious overlap. It’s because their communities belong to different states, if not to say “worlds” – Norway and Russia. There is only point like a magic portal through which people can get from one community to another. It’s a border station in Storskog-Borisoglebsk. And once transition is done, circumstances change dramatically. There is no way to cross the border by water, by air, by skiing or swimming – just by road.

Here are some articles that could help you to learn more about how to pass this portal and visit the neighbours.
