Government Shtokman talks
Arctic oil industry was on the agenda, when the Norwegian Minister of Oil and Energy yesterday met with his Russian counterpart in Moscow. .
We always considered that Norwegian companies control unique experiences in offshore field development, Russian Minister of Natural Resoucers Yury Trutnev said after the meeting. –We value the cooperaton which has developed between Russia and Norwegian in the field of sub-soil resources, he added, a government press release reads.
The Norwegian minister also said that the two countries’ governments from now on will step up contacts and joint competence skills.
-It is the companies which are responsible for the operative Shtokman development. However, the authorities will from now on be in more regular contacts in order to assess whether the competence developed can be applied to handle the technological challenges in the North, he added.
