Halonen, Yevdokimov discussed cooperation
Finnish President Tarja Halonen yesterday met with Murmansk Governor Yuri Yevdokimov. On the agenda were new challenges in the High North.
A press release from the Murmansk regional administration reads that the two politicians discussed “the new development era in the North, including projects within sea transport and shelf development”.
Mr. Yevdokimov said Murmansk Oblast is undergoing major changes following huge economic projects, as well as social sector issues. In the meeting, he invited Finnish investors to Murmansk.
Earlier the same day, the Murmansk Governor participated in the conference “Success in the North”, organised by Finnish regional authorities and several organisations, among the Finn Barents company.
