Helicopters for the Russian Arctic
The Naryan-Mar Joint Air Unit is positioning itself ahead of Russias development offensive in the Arctic. The company now acquires a series of new Ka-62 helicopters.
Head of the company, Mr. Valerii Afanasyev, says to Rosbaltnord.ru that the investment must be seen in the light of the upcoming development of offshore fields in the Barents Sea, first of all the Shtokman field and the Prirazlomnoe field. He is confident that the Naryan-Mar Joint Air Unit has the necessary experiences and the right location for offshore helicopter services. The company has for a number of years served the oil industry in the oil-rich and remote Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The multipurpose copter can take up to 16 people, 1600 kg of goods. Top speed is up to 300 km/h and maximum flight length is up to 1000 km.
