Less orphans in Murmansk
Over the last years, the number of orphans in Murmansk Oblast has decreased steadily, regional figures show.
While the number of new orphans was 760 in 2006, the number had in 2008 decreased to 525, Murman.ru reports. Still, the problem persists. An in all, a total of 3450 children in the region remain without parental care. So far this year, a total of 377 children have got permanent or temporary foster families in the region, the news site informs.
