LNG plant for Yamal

Gazprom will next year decide whether to build a LNG terminal in the Yamal Peninsula, deputy head of the company said today.

Mr. Aleksandr Medvedev confirmed to the press that Yamal is one of the places considered for the gas processing plant. From before, Gazprom has decided to build a LNG plant on the Barents Sea coast in connection with the Shtokman project, as well as in the Sakhalin-2 project. The Bovanenkovskoe field, which after 2011 will produce a total of 115 billion cubic meters of gas annually, is the biggest in the Yamal, and a top priority for Gazprom.
