Medal for Murmansk governor

Governor of Murmansk, Yury Yevdokimov, has been awarded a medal from the Federation Council for his “many years’ of faithful work” and his contributions to “the strengthening of Russian statehood”.

After weeks of major pressure from political opponents, the medal from the upper house of parliament must be seen by Governor Yevdokimov as a welcome sign of approval.

The medal, issued in connection with the 15-years anniversary of the Federation Council, is also awarded the governor for his contributions to the strengthening of Russian federal and regional law, a press release from the regional administration reads.
