More exploration drillings in the Barents Sea

StatoilHydro is given authorisation to drill a new well in the Carus-field in the Barents Sea in search of petroleum resources.

The Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority has given consent to start drilling one well on the Carus-field in The Barents Sea, which is situated 122 kilometres off the coast of Norway. The drilling will be performed by the Polar Pioneer rig, which is designed to work on deep waters in arctic areas. StatoilHydro is planning to start drilling this August, with duration of 45 days.
