More goods through Murmansk and Kandalaksha ports
The cargo turnover in Murmansk port increased with nearly 46 percent in 2009. Also Kandalaksha in the southern part of Murmansk Oblast had positive results in the period.
In Kandalaksha port the cargo turnover increased with 17.7 percent in the period January-November 2009, web site B-port.com reports.
Ports in North-Western Russia handled 3.0 percent more cargo in January-November 2009 than in the same period in 2008. At the same time, several ports in North-Western Russia had large decline in cargo turnover. The port of Dudinka handled 64.8 percent less cargo while Arkhangelsk port had a 32 percent decline.
