Much litter along coast of Norway
During a nationwide clean-up action of 100 km of Norway’s coastline last autumn voluntary cleaners found huge amounts of garbage.
The volunteers found everything from refrigerators and washing machines to dangerous waste as full containers of oil and chemicals, oil barrels, batteries and fire extinguishers.
- We see this as serious examples of environmental crime, says campaign leader Emily Robertson in Keep Norway Tidy to Nordlys.
According to numbers from Norwegian companies handling returnable waste, as much as 90.000 tons of dangerous waste has yet to be collected from all over Norway.
