Murmanshelf presents cluster policy project
Murmanshelf, the association of oil- and gas suppliers in Murmansk Oblast and Northwest Russia, recently held an international seminar in Murmansk on cluster formation in the region’s oil and gas industry.
The seminar, which was titled “Cluster policy: developing the underwater and shoreline infrastructure supply industry sector”, was organized as a part of the “Sea, Resources and Technology 2010” exhibition, Murmanshelf writes on the company’sweb site.
The aim of the project is to strengthen cooperation between Norwegian and Russian organizations and increase the competitive capacity of companies in the region.
Murmanshelf has several Norwegian partners in the project - the business incubator Pro Barents, Econ Pöyry and Greater Stavanger.
In the seminar the Norwegian companies shared their experience in setting up oil and gas clusters in local regions and discussed the prospects for cooperation between Rogaland, Finnmark and Murmansk regions.
