Murmansk Airport to be modernized

Murmansk Airport is over 30 years old in need of serious modernization, GTRK Murman reports. Last year the landing strip was repaired for 500 million RUB. This summer the taxing strip, ramp and light signaling system will be repaired, and the façade of the airport’s main building will be renovated.

The three months that the renovation will take, the airport will only be open for flights at night.

The landing strip will also be extended with 300 meters, to be able to handle planes of the Airbus class 319 and 320.
