Murmansk Economic Forum will become yearly event

Murmansk Oblast Governor Dmitry Dmitriyenko is very pleased with last week’s International Economic Forum. New investments in Murmansk Oblast from contracts concluded during the forum will probably amount to more than 30 billion rubles.

- Thanks to the forum, Murmansk Oblast is now seen as a region with brave, vigorous and interesting people, the governor says. Everybody saw that Murmansk Oblast is not only an industrial region, but a region where culture and new relationships between people is evolving.

The main conclusion after the economic forum is that all doubt about the start-up of the Shtokman project has been eliminated, Mr. Dmitriyenko said at a briefing on the results of the economic forum, MBNews reports. - In the nearest future construction of new roads to Teriberka starts, as well as housings for the workers that will be involved in the first phase of the project.

Murmansk International Forum will become a yearly event, TV Murman reports. The planning for next year’s forum has already started. Dmitry Dmitrieynko admits that the organizers had not expected such an enormous interest as the forum created. The number of participants was more than twice the number that was expected.
