Murmansk establishes body for foreign investors
A special administrative body has been established in Murmansk, through which foreign companies can prepare launching of their operations in the region, Murmansk Governor Yuri Yevdokimov said this week.
The governor presented the new body to Finnish Minister of Foreign Trade and Development, Paavo Väyrynen, when the latter visited Murmansk this week, the Finnish government website reports.
Murmansk is expected to experience a boost in international trade as the giant Shtokman field is developed. In addition, major investments will over the next few years be made in regional port development and in new mining projects.
It remains unclear how the new body will be organized.
