Murmansk ready for special economic port zone

-I am ninety percent sure that Murmansk Oblast will win the tender on the establishment of a special economic port zone, Deputy Governor Aleksandr Makarov says.

The status of economic zone includes a number of investment and business benefits, and is considered vital for the implementation of the major regional port development plans.

Deputy Head of the regional Department of Economic Development, Mr. Viktor Gorbunov, underlines in an interview with Regnum that not only the western shore of the Kola Bay should be included in the application. He maintains that also the eastern side of the bay, the area with the existing oil and coal terminals must be included. –It is in these two terminals that the investors are ready to place the biggest money, Mr. Gorbunov says.
