Murmansk spends more on road infrastructure to Norway
The Murmansk regional administration in 2007 spent 100 million RUB on the upgrade of a road link towards Norway.
According to its annual social and economic report, the Murmansk regional administration in 2007 spent 101 million RUB on the Nikel-Prirechny road. The sum totalled 10,2 percent of the region’s investment programme.
The road, which long has been in a dilapidated state, is one of two roads leading towards the Norwegian border.
As traffic restrictions on the main E105 federal road between Murmansk and the border are stepped up following military training activities, the use of the Nikel-Prirechny roads is expected to pick pace.
