Murmansk to spend 4,3 billion RUB on new bridges

The construction of a new bridge from the Kola Bay towards the Murmansk city centre will start next year, the Murmansk regional administration confirms. The bridge has a 3 billion RUB price tag.

In addition, a second 1,3 billion RUB bridge will be built on the western side of the Kola Bay, B-port.com reports.

According to Deputy Governor Nikolay Berezhnoy, the planning documents for the new bridges are ready and construction of the eastern bridge will start up already next year. The project will be financed jointly by regional and federal authorities.

A new bridge across the Kola Bay was completed in 2006, and the two new bridges will be built on land as a continuation this bridge.
