The Arctic transportation major Murmansk Shipping Company is experiencing hardships. The company had a net loss of 439.6 million RUB in the first quarter of 2009.
Last year, the results after the first quarter showed a profit of 139.4 million RUB, web site Portnews.ru writes.
Murmansk Shipping Company is a corporate structure which includes the fleet of the three companies Murmansk Shipping Company, Northern Shipping Company and Northern River Shipping Lines. The company operates a total of 303 different types of vessels with a total deadweight of about 1.2 million tons.
