New Arkhangelsk leaders
The former leader of the liberal-minded Union of Right Forces Party has been appointed to the post as deputy governor of Arkhangelsk Oblast.
Former regional party leader Dmitry Taskaev from before worked as adviser to Governor Ilya Mikhalchuk. The new deputy governor, who is fluent in English, will be assigned with the task of making regional management structures more efficient, newspaper Pravda Severa reports.
At the same time, the United Russia Party has announced that Vitaly Fortygin is nominated to the post as speaker in the Arkhangelsk regional parliament, Dvinainform.ru reports. Mr. Fortygin from before serves as speaker in the assembly. Deputy speaker is likely to become Igor Chesnikov, also he a member of the United Russia Party.
United Russia won the March 1 regional parliament elections with 51,82 percent of the votes.
