New dump site, but not soon
A new 200 million RUB dump site will be constructed in the Primprsky District of Arkhangelsk Oblast. However, it seems unlikely that the new dunp site will be constructed before the deadline of January 1, 2009, which was set by the court.
The construction works can begin no sooner than next year, newspaper Business Class reports. The company Argropromdostroi will be a contractor for the project. The garbage problem of Arkhangelsk has been more and more serious as the capacities of the existing city main garbage dump has run out. A local court has previously demanded that the dump site is closed.
