New governor makes housing sector main priority
Judging from his first meeting with the staff in the Arkhangelsk regional administration, new Governor Ilya Mikhalchuk will make house building the top field of priority for Arkhangelsk Oblast
This year about 3.9 billion RUB will be allocated for these purposes under a regional investment programme, 600 millon of which will be spent on new social housing, informed the press service of the Arkhangelsk Oblast regional administration. Mr. Mikhalchuk maintained that the regional budget does not lack resources for house building. The main reason for the lack of progress, he said, is rather the lack of order and control”. The new governor, approved by the regional parliament last Thursday, now intends to investigate the way regional budget funds for construction are spent.
