Nine dead, six injured in mine accident
Nine people are dead and six injured after an explotion Thursday in one of the mines in Murmansk Oblast. The fate of three of the injured workers is still unknown, a source in the local police force told news agency RIA Novosti.
The accident happened in the Apatit Company’s Rasvumchorr mine, eight kilometres outside the town Kirovsk.
- During preparations to blasting work the liquid blasting agent, made of a mixture of ammonium nitrate, aluminium powder and oil, suddenly detonated, the source told RIA Novosti.
Nine people died in the accident, three were sent to hospital and three received policlinical treatment.
