Nobody wanted to buy Murmansk Fish Port
Russian federal authorities yesterday cancelled a planned auction on the state-owned Murmansk Fish Port. No companies had expressed their interest in the strategically located port.
The auction of the 100 percent state-owned company was scheduled to take place on 3 June, Murmanchanin.ru reports with reference to Portnews.ru. However, the Russian federal Property Fund did not receive a single bid and therefore cancelled the auction.
The starting price for the port was 3,19 billion RUB.
The Murmansk Fish Port was established in 1926. It has its own fleet of support vessels, 40.000 tons of refrigerating capacity, two terminals and a number of service facilities.
As previously reported by BarentsObserver, speculations long swirled about the oil industry being interested in taking over the port.
