Nordic recession

The Swedish GDP last quarter 2008 dropped 4,9 percent year-on-year. In Finland, the national economy in the same period shrunk 1,3 percent.

For all of 2008, Swedish GDP dropped 0,2 percent, which is the worst result since measurement started in 1994, Sveriges Radio reports.

Also in neighboring Finland, the economy is shrinking dramatically and the country is now in recession. The country’s economy dropped for the second quarter in a row. In the last quarter of the year, the economy shrunk 1,3 percent, the SR.se reports.
