Norilsk Nickel buys new stake in Arkhangelsk port
Mining and metallurgy giant Norilsk Nickel has increased its stake in the Arkhangelsk Sea Commercial Port to 73,23 percent after it this week bought a 19,73 percent stake in the port from the Northern Shipping Company.
The port, the main in Arkhangelsk, is today heavily engaged in the shipping of pulp, paper products, metals, containers, forestry products as well as heavy industrial components. The port is believed to increase its importance in the years ahead as shipping and industrial activities in the North pick pace.
