Northern Fleet vessel on its way to France
The Northern Fleet’s anti-submarine vessel ”Severomorsk” left its home base today and sailed towards France for participation in the international naval exercise FRUKUS-2009.
FRUKUS is an annual exercise for naval forces from France, Russia, United Kingdom and USA. This year the event takes place outside the French naval base Brest in the period June 22-26, TV21 reports.
This year’s exercise focuses on joint operations in fight against pirates in coastal areas.
