Norway, Russia sign agreement on petroleum cooperation
The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate and the Russian Agency of Sub-soil Resouces (Rosnedra) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on joint activities in the Barents Sea.

–This project is important in the strengthening of international, and first of all European, energy security, he adds.
According to Rosnedra, results from recent joint studies in the Russian part of the Barents Sea and the Kara Sea show the high efficiency of the cooperation.
A part of the MOU is also the establishment of a joint steering group – the Geo Forum – with representatives of both sides, a press release from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate reads.
The memorandum was signed by Petroleum Directorate’s Bente Nyland and Rosnedra’s Anatoly Ledovskikh during the recent International Geology Congress in Oslo
