Norway, Russia to start implementation of border zone
The foreign ministers of Norway and Russia today agreed that special cross-border travelling conditions must be established for the people living in the two countries border areas.
In a press conference in Kirkenes, Norway, today, Mr. Jonas Gahr Støre and Sergey Lavrov announced that a working group, which is to facilitate the establishment of the special cross-border travelling, will be established. Minister Støre said to the journalists that he expects that the working group will present proposals on the issue by the next Norwegian-Russian meeting, and that the subsequent implementation of the improved regulations will take place relatively quickly. Russias Sergey Lavrov highlighted that the prime task is to make conditions for people living in the region comfortable. -No obstacles for cross-border activities in the region must made, the Russian minister stressed.
