Norwegian days in Arkhangelsk opened

ARKHANGELSK: Photographer Asbjørn Nilsen from Vardø, Northern Norway, had the honor of opening the Norwegian days in Arkhangelsk with an exhibition called ”Colors in Ice”.

Nilsen has strong bonds to artists and cultural institutions in Russia, and especially in Arkhangelsk, Vardø’s Russian twin town. In 2009 he had exhibitions in seven Russian towns. The Exhibition “Colors in Ice” will later be shown in Naryan-Mar in the Nenets District.

Nilsen is known as a coloristic photographer and colors have been his main theme in large parts of his work and exhibitions. Water is also central in his work, and his earlier exhibitions have had names as “Colors in Water” and “The Barents Sea”.
