Norwegian fighter planes over Sweden
Norwegian F-16 fighter planes train together with Swedish JAS Gripen over Northern Norway and Northern Sweden.
Norwegian and Swedish fighter jet pilots have earlier met and trained together at different occasions. This cooperation showed to be very fruitful, and now an agreement about weekly joint flight exercises has received political approval, news paper Nordlys reports.
Half of the flights are planned to take place over Northern Norway, and the other half over Northern Sweden. The pilots are cleared to use the other country’ air bases when needed.
The Finnish Air Force is part of the agreement, but has so far participated only sporadically.
