Norwegian oil salaries highest in the world

Norway based oil and gas professionals are enjoying some of the highest salaries in the world.

According to The Oil and Gas Global Salary Guide 2012, people working offshore in Norway’s oil and gas sector earn the highest worldwide salaries, averaging 1.07 million NOK ( USD 180,300) per annum, Dagens Næringsliv reports.

This is more than the double the global average, which is 477,400 NOK ($80,485), based on over 14,000 respondents surveyed in the guide.

Second on the list over most-earning oil industry workers is Australia ($164,000), followed by Brunei ($140,500), Canada ($128,700) and USA ($124,000).
